To date, installing pipelines on steep slopes is a very complex process due to the impossibility of using pipe layers on narrow paths, requiring the installation of temporary infrastructure, namely a cable car. This has a huge impact on the surrounding environment, and suspended loads can be unsafe for operators. Additionally, this equipment is costly in terms of installation and maintenance and slows down the pipeline positioning process on slopes. Laurini has created IBEX: an unprecedented self-propelled multi-purpose sled with 4 tracks, suitable for laying, aligning pipes, and transporting any kind of equipment such as welding and coating tools. Additional advantages are found in the tilting power unit, which allows the engine inclination to remain within operational limits and enables the positioning and securing of the pipe to be transported and aligned.
