Two Types of Pipe Carriers for Two Different Purposes
The hydraulic sled is used for transporting, laying, and aligning pipes designed for steep trench sections where pipe layers cannot be used. The sled has a frame with solid rubber wheels and is equipped with two polyurethane-coated saddles on which the pipe is secured with special straps. The sled, positioned in the trench, is held in place by steel cables from a winch positioned upstream of the steep section. The winch lowers the sled until it reaches the required position. The saddles are equipped with hydraulic cylinders that allow the pipe to be raised, lowered, and moved to achieve alignment. The hydraulic system is powered by a small single-cylinder combustion engine installed on board the sled. The electric sled is specially designed for moving pipes inside enclosed spaces, such as warehouses where welding tests are conducted.
