SETTANTA: A Revolution in Demolition, Our Tribute to 70 Years of Excellence
Published in:

We are thrilled to announce the start of production for a new Laurini machine that is set to revolutionize the demolition industry: SETTANTA, which in Italian means “seventy”. This name, chosen to mark our 70th anniversary (1955-2025), represents not only a significant milestone in our company’s history but also a true technological breakthrough in the demolition sector.

SETTANTA is the world’s first machine entirely designed for demolition and will be ready in March 2025. It will be equipped with exceptional technical features, making it one-of-a-kind and highly competitive. Thanks to our innovative hydraulic quick coupling system, the machine can be fitted with four different interchangeable arms:

  • Demolition arm with a height of 24.5 meters at the pin and a 3,000 kg tool;
  • Triple boom arm with a height of 14 meters at the pin and a 6,000 kg tool, ideal for crushing and shearing operations on the ground;
  • Telescopic arm with a variable height from 25 to 30 meters and a 2,000 kg tool;
  • Lattice lifting arm with integrated hydraulic winch.

Technical Specifications

  • Base machine weight: 30,000 kg
  • Machine width in transport configuration: 2.5 meters
  • Expandable undercarriage from 2.5 to 3.7 meters
  • SCANIA DC9 engine with 350 HP
  • Danfoss hydraulic system with Load Sensing system dedicated to the tool (flow rate 400 liters/minute at 350 bar, with booster up to 380 bar)
  • Automatic greasing system
  • Hydraulic tilting or lifting cab with ROPS-FOPS protection and heated and ventilated seat
  • 3D camera system
  • High-pressure misting system
  • Air compressor with in-cab air gun

Technological Innovations

One of the most notable innovations introduced with SETTANTA is our “HQCS” quick coupling system, which allows the automatic connection of all hydraulic and electrical lines without the operator having to leave the cab. This system is the result of years of development and represents a significant added value.

We designed SETTANTA from a blank slate, with maximum creative freedom and supported by our decades of experience. When we asked ourselves what the ideal machine for demolition should be, the answer was clear: more stability, greater leverage for the lifting cylinders, and less need for counterweights. The result? A completely new design optimized for demolition.

A new standard in demolition

SETTANTA offers an unparalleled weight/performance ratio. With dimensions and weight similar to a 25-ton excavator, this machine is built to excel in every aspect of demolition. Thanks to its variable-width undercarriage, the machine’s performance is guaranteed during any 360-degree rotation.

Powered by the robust SCANIA 5-cylinder engine and the Danfoss hydraulic system, SETTANTA is designed to be a formidable force on demolition sites, offering high performance, easy transportability, and simplified maintenance.

Launch and First Deliveries

SETTANTA was previewed in Rome last August during the “NFDC – National Federation of Demolition Contractors” industry association convention. Pre-orders are now open, and the first deliveries are scheduled for March 2025. Inquiries and requests for quotes have exceeded our expectations, with confirmed orders for a machine never before produced, highlighting the trust our customers place in us. We are equally confident in the success this machine will achieve.

A legacy built on passion

“When I started working with my father, the company already had 25 years of history. I never imagined we would reach our 70th anniversary with such extraordinary growth. SETTANTA symbolizes our ongoing commitment to innovation and quality. Since we began transforming excavators into demolition machines, we have always pushed the boundaries, improving every aspect to ensure exceptional performance. Today, with SETTANTA, we present a machine designed, engineered, and built exclusively for demolition—a step forward in the history of demolition and engineering,” said CEO Marco Laurini.
