On november 19, 2024, Laurini Officine Meccaniche opened its doors, welcoming external visitors (students and others) to offer a unique experience as part of the Imprese Aperte Parma initiative. The event allowed participants to explore the beating heart of the company and discover how some of its machines are created.

The day began with a warm welcome from CEO Marco Laurini, who enthusiastically introduced his company. Following this, General Manager Michelangelo Blasi shared the company’s origins as a small artisanal business and its evolution into a significant industrial enterprise recognized both nationally and internationally.

During the tour, students had the chance to visit the technical office, where ideas are born, before moving on to the production departments, ending with the assembly section. Here, they could closely observe the processes that transform an idea into a tangible machine, passing through the phases of construction and testing.

The expressions of amazement and interest from the students reflected the profound impact of this visit. Witnessing the behind-the-scenes workings of a company with 70 years of experience provided many with an opportunity to connect with the professional world and understand the dynamics of the mechanical industry.

Today’s event reaffirmed the value of initiatives like Imprese Aperte, which bridge the gap between younger generations and local production realities, fostering a deeper appreciation of local excellence and professional opportunities.

Laurini Officine Meccaniche thanks all participants and renews its commitment to sharing its know-how and passion with future generations.

“The Imprese Aperte project was launched as part of Parma’s Italian Capital of Culture 2020+21 initiative and is based on the concept of the company as a social actor in the region and as a producer of culture. […] The project encompasses three dimensions: opening company doors to visitors, promoting the dissemination of business culture to the public, and developing and hosting cultural initiatives within company spaces.”

The initiative is promoted by the association “Parma, io ci sto!” and the Unione Parmense degli Industriali.
